Following the terrorist attack at Charlie Hebdo in Paris, Calgarians held a vigil to mourn the deaths of the victims at City Hall in Downtown Calgary on January 7. The attack killed 12 people at the satirical newspaper and injured several others.
There was a moment of silence for the victims as citizens mourned for the lost lives. About 100 people of various nationalities attended the vigil and held signs saying “Je Suis Charlie” which translates to “I am Charlie”. The hashtag #jesuischarlie is also being used across the globe on social media to show solidarity for the victims.
